CWO St Joseph’s Parish Mary-Land Awgbu, Celebrates Cultural Carnival Cum20th Priestly Anniversary of Fr.Ezeonyeamali

It was a dual celebration on Sunday, 12th August 2018as C.W.O members of St Joseph’s Catholic Church Mary-Land Awgbu, celebrated their cultural carnival and the 20th Priestly Anniversary of their Parish Priest, Rev.Fr Christopher Ezeonyeamali.The event which began with a concelebrated Holy Mass at the Parish at the successful end of their 2018 August meeting witnessed the presence of dignitaries from different walks of life.

Delivering his homily at the Holy Mass,the Dean of studies St. JohnBosco Seminary School Isuaniocha, Fr.Innocent Okeke, advised the people to believe strongly in God’s words and the Church’s Doctrine. He reminded the faithful of God’s unconditional love on mankind, saying that it is left for men to amend their ways and follow him. Fr.Okeke, implored all Christians to live responsible lives so as to continually share in God’s love. He thereafter thanked God for the life of Fr. Christopher Ezeonyeamali, whom he said has offered himself to God in service to man and humanity as a priest. He also prayed that God grant him more favour to keep working in His vine yard.

In their address of welcome presented by the C.W.O President of the parish, Mrs.Eucharia Nwafor, they thanked all for turning out massively at the event, asking for God’s mercy to convey them to their various destinations. In the same vein, she solicited to the public for support to complete their on-going projects in the Parish. They also highlighted the aim of the cultural carnival which was to bring unending peace and unity in the church as the family of Christ.

Speaking to Fides, the Secretary C.W.O, Mrs.Ifeyinwa Okoye, thanked God for a successful August meeting, and prayed for God’s help even as they continue with their Church projects. She also prayed for God’s blessing on the celebrant, Fr. Ezeonyeamali.

Fr. Ezeonyeamali, who was overwhelmed with the love shown him by his parishioners, thanked all who graced the occasion. He also thanked God who has kept him alive to witness his 20th priestly anniversary. In a special way, he thanked the C.W.O of his parish for their motherly love towards him.

In his vote of thanks, the chairman of the occasion, Mr. Uchenna Onwukaike, thanked the Parishioners for their great sense of commitment, and all who contributed in making the occasion an epoch celebration. He also urged the parishioners to be embodiments of God’s love and righteousness.

Some of the highpoints of the event include: Omenala Cultural Dance, cutting of cake, fund raising, drama presentation, Queen and Lolo competition etc
