In a bid to re-orientate and help in curtailing poverty in society, the Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency, CSDA, held a One-Day Sensitization Seminar in partnership with the World Bank last Tuesday at Orumba North Local Government Hall, Ajalli.
The meeting was strictly for traditional rulers, presidents general, women’s leaders and youth leaders of all the communities in Orumba North LGA.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO, Community and Social Development Project, Mr. Chudi Muojekwu, highlighted the aim of the seminar, saying that the project was a scheme mapped out by the government in partnership with World Bank to end extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in the communities.
He further stated that the agency was focused on building and rebuilding social and natural resources, as well as infrastructural services at the community level.
In a chat with Fides, the chairman, Orumba North Local Government Area, Hon. Emeka Aforka, thanked the agency for their initiative of visiting Orumba North with what he described as a good plan, noting that the project was a welcome development, even as he stated that it would enhance the communities.
He pledged his unalloyed support towards the project and promised to do his best for the continued progress of the project.
Speaking at the event, the women’s leader, Orumba North LGA, Mrs. Sabina Okeke, represented by her secretary, Mrs. Martha Enekwe, thanked the governor of Anambra State for introducing the agency, noting that they would show full support and interest in the project to ensure that all those involved benefited from it.
Some of the dignitaries present at the seminar included, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, SA to the governor on Agriculture; Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers; Hon. Emeka Aforka, chairman, Orumba North LGA; SA to Governor on Mobilization, Ifesinachi Onwura; Presidents General, women’s leaders and youth leaders.
