COVID-19: Ibida Donates Sanitary Materials, Food Items to Constituents

The member representing Njikoka II State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Sir Pete Ibida, recently presented food items and sanitary materials to his constituents as a way of ameliorating their plight following the COVID-19 Sit-at-home Order.

Items donated included bags of rice, cartons of noodles, water dispensers, hand sanitizers, packets of facemasks, hand-gloves, cans of liquid soap, among others.

Presenting the items, Ibida who is the House Committee Chairman on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, thanked God for protecting his constituents despite the ravaging effect of the virulent disease in the globe

He paid a glowing tribute to the Government of Anambra State for its pro-activeness in curtailing the spread of coronavirus in the state.

He charged the party chairmen, women’s leaders, SSAs, SAs, EAs, as well as councilors, to judiciously and without favouritism, distribute the items, especially to the most vulnerable and poor people of the constituency.

Reacting, the Director General of Hon Pete Ibida Campaign Organization, Engr Francis Obidike, and the Patron of Hon Peter Ibida Campaign Organization, Hon Cyprian Aniagor, commended Hon. Ibida for his gesture, noting that the people were happy.

According to them, stakeholders of the party from Umu Owelle were overwhelmed with joy over the magnanimity and unprecedented kindness of Hon peter Ibida whom they said was known for his impressive love for his constituency and humanity in general, even as they urged all to adhere to the preventive measures stipulated by the government and health experts.

For his part, the local government party chairman, Hon Charles Ukekwe, described Ibida as a man driven by human compassion, patriotism and charity, and prayed God to reward him immensely.
