Hon. Justice Peter Umeadi Rtd, Former Chief Judge of Anambra State, recently commissioned an ultramodern 5 room Corpers’ lodge built for corps members at Lakecity Secondary School, Nri, Anaocha LGA, Anambra State.
Speaking during the ceremony, former Chief Judge said NYSC as an institution, dedicated to national unity, mobilizes corps members comes from different parts of the country to serve their fatherland, hence the need to support them.
While recalling his days as young Corps member in Etiosa LGA of Lagos State in 1980, he said Corps members tend to integrate well and give their best when you made their working conditions better. He also noted that the Corpers lodge built for Corps members at Lakecity Secondary school will enable them serve not only the school, but Nri community better.
In her welcome address, Mrs Vivian Okeke, Principa, Lakecity Secondary School, was full of appreciation for the Nduka Foundation and its founder, Chief Dr Chinwe Nduka, who built the Corpers lodge for their philanthropic gesture. She said the new edifice will serve as a morale booster for the corps members as well as the students in the quest to achieve educational excellence.
The 5 room Corpers lodge is equipped with various facilities including 5 toilets/bathroom, kitchen and sitting room.
