The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku-Awka, Dr Joe Akabuike, has enjoined the SERVICOM team of the hospital not relent in the positive change they have brought in the hospital, particularly in the area of staff-patient cordiality, and charged the team to inculcate the five drivers of SERVICOM, nameAly, Service Delivery, Timelines, Professionalism, Information, and Staff Attitude, in their day-to-day discharge of work duties to ameliorate the challenge of patients who come to the hospital with one affliction or the other so as to give them a soft landing.
Dr Akabuike who stated this during the team’s One Year Anniversary Celebration, çongratulated them on what he called their doggedness in ensuring a good working relationship exists between the hospital staff and patients, management and the staff members in the last one year.
He charged the team to be dutiful, especially, in the area of monitoring staff lateness to work.
The CMD who was represented by the Head, Accounts Department, Mr. Godwin Nworie, described the Service Week as apt. He said that the patients were the reason the teaching hospital was in the business of service for health.
Highpoints of the event were cutting of the anniversary cake and a tour of facility conducted by the nodal officer and his team to appreciate the patients.
