Commissioner Seeks Peaceful Resolution of Communal Disputes

The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji, has urged traditional institutions to the uphold truth in resolving disputes within their communities to ensure peace and stability in society.

The commissioner made the call during the presentation of membership certificates to the Nze na Ozo Society in Nsukwu Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The event which was organized with the slogan, ”Eziokwu bu Ndu”, was aimed at encouraging Ndi Nze na Ozo to continue to discharge their duties with fairness and truth to sustain the peace in the area.

Onyenji informed them that the governor was pleased with Abatete People and that he would communicate their message of solidarity to him.

He commended them for their various community developmental projects and affirmed the ingenuity of Igbo people, which, he said, was total development of their environment, and wished Igbos would be given the opportunity to revive Nigeria again.

He commended Governor Soludo for his efforts in reviving Anambra State and reminded the people about the achievements of the governor after a hundred days in office.

The commissioner sued for peace in all communities, which, he said, would be achieved through the truth to allow for the development of the state and the country.

Comrade Onyenji called for equity, fairness and justice in various families, state and country, and noted that any country where there was crisis had injustice in the system.

He recommended for the adoption of Nze na Ozo Society by other communities in the state to help champion the course of peace in the state.

For his part, the chairman, Nze na Ozo Nsukwu Abatete, Chief Ugonna Obiano, said the event was organised to encourage deserving Ozo Title members who had done well in the community, hence the presentation of the life certificate to their members.

Chief Obiano said in line with their slogan, ”Truth is Life”, the event would go a long way to solidify this slogan. He said their duty was to ensure law and order, equity and fairness in society, no matter the status of those involved.

The event featured presentation of membership certificates to deserving members.
