Cloud Energy Boss Donates Solar System Sets to Ndikpa, Ezinator

As part of his contributions to human and community development, the Managing Director of Cloud Energy Photo Electric Company, Engr Theophilus Chidi Nweke, has donated about 50 sets of Multi-Function Solar Home System to his community, Ndikpa Village, Ezinator Town, Awka South LGA, Anambra State.

Making the donation on the occasion of the maiden edition of Onebunne Foundation Education Scholarship Award held at the late Chief Andrew Onebunne Nweke’s compound, Ndikpa Village, Ezinator, on Saturday, September 11, said it was part of his contribution to light up the community, which, he said, had not witnessed Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC’s) electricity supply for many months.

He noted that while they were still working with the EEDC to restore electricity supply in the community, he donated the solar equipment to enable the people of his community to enjoy electric power.

Engr Nweke stated his conviction that the solar light would provide alternative source of power supply that would enable the beneficiaries of the scholarship award, as well as other students and their teachers, to read their books and excel in learning and teaching.

Fides gathered that Engr Chidi Nweke was one of the trustees of the Onebunne Foundation, an NGO, which, he, alongside his siblings, founded in honour of their late father and a celebrated educationist, Chief Andrew Onebunne Nweke.

Receiving the solar systems, the Chairman of Ndikpa Village Assembly, Mr Ignatius Ezeudu, thanked Engr Nweke for the donation, saying that it would go a long way in contributing to the development of the community.

He assured that the Multi-Function Solar Home System would be judiciously distributed across the community.

Also speaking, the traditional ruler of Ezinator, Igwe Timothy Ezenwaka, appreciated the donor for the gift which he described as the first of its kind in the agrarian community.
