….Calls for Patronage, Promises Honest Business

The Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, recently blessed and commissioned Awka Diocesan Bookshop and Fashion World, Ekwuluobia Branch, situated at Diocesan Law office/Shopping Plaza Ekwulobia.

Commissioning the project, Bishop Ezeokafor who represented by the Auxiliary bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye, called for patronage, even as he advised those working in the two  establishments to be fair and considerate.

Bishop Ezeokafor encouraged and congratulated those learning general sewing under JDPC fashion world, free of charge, for being among the beneficiaries, noting that if they did well, the Diocese would empower them through JDPC, by buying machines for them to start their own.

The Catholic prelate reminded all the people doing business in the Church’s owned Plaza that they were representing the Church, hence should do business there with the fear of God, adding that God would bless them if they do so.

The bishop also said that if those learning work perform creditably well, it would give the Diocese more courage to continue in the empowerment exercise.

He beckoned on the public spirited individuals to please partner with the Church by the way of sponsorship to enable them continue to in render this type of service to the poor, especially the unemployed youths, which, he said, were ready and willing to learn and work.

For his part, the Awka Diocesan Director of Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), Rev. Fr. Simon Anigbogu on behalf of the beneficiaries appreciated the bishop and promised to make the Diocese proud both as a body and in their various little way.

The Director promised that people would never regret ever doing business with them.

Blessing of the facilities, refreshment formed the highpoints of the occasion.
