
. . . Pleads with electorates to vote PDP March 9

Awka North Elders on 3rd March met at Ikenga Amansea to celebrate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) victory on the election of 23rd February 2019, which brought Iyom Uche Ekwunife as the Senator of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone and Hon. Chinedu Onwuaso (Nkponana Awka) as the Federal House of Representatives Member Elect for Awka North and South Constituency.
Present at the event were PDP Stakeholders, PG’s in Awka North LGA, PDP Ward Chairmen, Woman Leader and supporting friends and well wishers. In his opening remarks, the chairman of Awka North Elders Forum, Rev. Fr. Matthew Attansey, welcomed all to the event and thanked them for their continued support and collaboration to see Awka North progress.
In his remarks, the chief host of the event, Mike Ekwunife (Ikenga Amansea), welcomed and thanked the good people of Awka North for their sense of togetherness and sincerity. He commended the Awka North Elders Forum led by Rev. Fr. Matthew Attansey, which has served as a great instrument in promoting peace and communication by giving the local government a new face.
He called on all members of the Local Government, the Constituency and Anambra State Central Senatorial Zone, to join hands together to fight the corruption of divide and rule; adding that the House of Assembly election slated for March 9, is a major opportunity for them to take over Awka North.
In his remarks, the State PDP Chairman, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, thanked Ikenga Amansea for always playing host to PDP gatherings. He encouraged electorates to come out in mass to vote for the PDP candidate for the House of Assembly. He assured the people that the PDP Candidate won’t disappoint if elected.
At the event, the PDP candidate for House of Assembly in Awka North, Hon Charles Okoye popularly called Chidon, commended members of Awka North for their togetherness and commitment in projecting PDP to victory. Chidon, who lighted the event with his dance steps, pleaded with the electorates to come in mass and vote for him for House of Assembly. He restated some of his promises and assured the people of good leadership once elected into power. He said that with PDP recent victory, it will be much easier to channel development to Awka North.
In his victory messages and remarks, Hon. Onwuaso, thanked God for the feat in the election. He also thanked Ikenga Amansea for playing host to the event. He thanked the people for their time and for coming out to vote for him in the last election. He assured them that PDP will take over Aanmbra State soon because they were ready to bring fast development in the state.
A toast of victory filled with prayers were said at the end of the event which was led by Prince Cletus Osieme (President General of Ebenebe Community). Other highlight of the event includes music and cultural dance presentation.
