…Lauds Company for Commitment to Truth
As part of efforts to integrate with their immediate community, the Fides Media last Monday paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Awka Town, Obi Gibson Nwosu, in his palace. The Fides team, led by the new Director, Rev Fr Robert Anagboso, was welcomed by the Awka monarch and his cabinet chiefs, reports Sophia Ugwuoke.
Stating the purpose of their visit, the Fides Editor-in-Chief, Mr Jude Atupulazi, said that following the recent change of guards in Fides, the new Management thought it fit to acquaint themselves with important stakeholders within its immediate community and beyond in order to form new alliances and strengthen existing bonds.
Mr Atupulazi used the occasion to urge the Awka Community, through the traditional ruler, to patronize Fides Media in some of their events by placing adverts. He equally disclosed that Fides offered such services as video coverages and others as contained in the fliers distributed to the monarch and his cabinet chiefs.
The Fides delegation was led by the Director, Fr Robert Anagbaoso; Deputy Director I, Fr Pio-Anthony Okafor; Deputy Director II, Fr Constantine Okoli; Editor-in-Chief, Mr Jude Atupulazi; Secretary to the Director, Miss Sophia Ugwuoke; as well as Production Manager, Mr Alexander Johnson Adejoh, among others.
The Palace Administrative Secretary, Chief Sir Alex Nwachukwu, earlier welcomed the Fides team to the palace and described Fides as a leading newspaper in the state which was known for its courage in stating things as they were.
While welcoming his visitors, the Awka Monarch, Obi Gibson Nwosu (Ezeuzu II), described Fides as partners in progress who always stood for the truth. He appreciated Fides for the visit, and promised to always patronize Fides Newspaper.
In his speech, the Fides Director, Fr Anagboso, thanked the palace for the warm reception given to the Fides delegation.
Echoing the words of Mr Atupulazi, Fr Anagboso said the visit to the palace was to maintain the relationship between the company and Awka royalty and said it was always good to identify with stakeholders.
The new Director of Fides Media assured the palace of the commitment of Fides Media to upholding the truth and moral values and extended a hand of fellowship to the palace in the task of moving the state forward.
Among the Awka royal cabinet members were the Speaker of the palace, Chief Nweze Okoli (Ozo Udo Awka); Chief Alex Nwachukwu, palace Administrative Secretary; and Ozo Okey Obuorah, Peesident, Ozo Awka Group and chairman, Awka Kingmakers.
