Awka Diocesan NFCS Gets New Executives

On the 11th February, 2018, the Awka Diocesan National Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS) inaugurated her newly elected executives at Christ the King Catholic Chaplaincy, Federal College of Education Technical, Umunze
The event began with a Holy Mass concelebrated by the outgoing  Chaplain,  Rev Fr Hyacinth Okafor and the incoming chaplain of the Awka Diocesan NFCS, Rev .Fr. Benjamin Odika. During the homily, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Okafor, urged the congregation especially the incoming executives to live the life of Christ. Drawing from the readings of the gospel, Fr. Okafor encouraged the newly elected executives to always live in the habit of searching for the lost souls. He added that members of NFCS should learn to associate with positive people which he coined as “the colony of the saint”. He advised the new executives to have the hunger for Christ and hunger for the service of humanity.
After the homily, the new executives took their oath and were commissioned by Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Okafor. In his remarks, the new NFCS Diocesan Chaplain, Fr. Odika, thanked the Bishop of the Dioecse, Most. Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, for his sincere support for the youths. In a special way, he thanked Fr. Okafor for his efforts in uplifting the NFCS to a greater level and urged the new administration of NFCS to avoid distractions that may pose as limitations in discharging their duties properly.
The outgoing President of NFCS, Comr. Francis Nlang, who was also awarded with Meritorious Service Award, thanked God for a successful tenure and prayed for God’s guidance upon the new executives. He charged the new executives to be cooperative and learn to sacrifice for the growth of NFCS.
In a similar vein, the new president Kingsley Onyeaso, thanked God for the opportunity given to him. He thanked the students for their confidence and for trusting him in the capacity of working as the diocesan president. He promised to put in his best in uplifting the standards of NFCS in Awka Diocese.
In his remarks, the Staff Adviser of Christ the King Chaplaincy, Paschal Okafor, welcomed all the NFCS chapters in the diocese. He charged the new executives to always be upright and to be exceptional in whatever they do.
Finally the President of the Students Union Government (SUG) of FCE (T), Umunze, Comr. Ikenna Celestine Obidiegwu, welcomed members of NFCS to their institution and pleaded that the new executive should strive for perfection and correct any mistakes that may hinder the progress of their administration.
Some of the new executives are Ugwu Udoka (Financial Secretary);  Onyeaso Kingsley (President);  Amasiaka Nkiruka (Secretary) and Ekeh Emmanuel (PRO)
