In celebration of the Fathers Day, members of Catholic Men’s Organization, CMO, have visited retired priests at their Welfare Home in Awka, Anambra State.
The delegates from CMO led by the diocesan chairman, Mr. Joseph Onuegbu, visited the home on Wednesday, June 29th.
Speaking at the visit, the chairman, Mr. Joseph Onuegbu, said that the visit was for the CMO members to celebrate their day and tap into the blessing of attaining old age.
Contributing, the diocesan Vice Chairman, Mr. Clement Ofoedu, described old age as a great blessing and lectured the priests on the importance of happiness, saying that there was need for them to remove any hiccups in their lives.
He beckoned on them to be religious with the instruction of the medical practitioners and ensure that they took their prescribed drugs.
He commended the Director of the priests’ Welfare Home, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Udoh, for effective care which he had been providing the priests at the home.
Welcoming the CMO delegates, Fr. Emmanuel Udoh appreciated the fathers for coming and commended them for looking out for the priests at the home, noting that such remembrance would be a source of encouragement to the retired priests to know that their contributions and efforts at their productive years were well appreciated.
In his remarks, Msgr. Luke Amataeze thanked the members of the CMO for acting as missionaries and remembering to visit the old priests. He prayed God to bless the fathers and enable them to attain to old age, as well as providing them with those that will care for them.
