ARF Calls for Good Governance in Anambra State

A socio-political group Anambra Redemption Forum (ARF) has charged all stakeholders in Anambra State to step up their games to ensure good governance in the state.

The group disclosed this during the inauguration and presentation of the group executive members at the auditorium of Christ Holy Church Awka, 22 June 2021.

The group, Fides gathered, came into being through constructive criticisms and advocacies with the purpose of ensuring that indigenes of Anambra State enjoyed good governance. The group had its executive members drawn from the 21 local governments in the state.

Delivering the welcome address, the group’s President, Mr Nduka Aguofia, appealed for support, co-operation and partnership from stakeholders in different spheres of life.

Nduka, who also noted that aside good governance, the group was geared towards promoting the spirit of alliance and partnership in seeking acceptable democracy dividends for Ndi Anambra.

Also speaking, the erstwhile Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Hon Osita Ezenwa, frowned at the rate of insecurity bedeviling the state, even as he commended Gov Willie Obiano’s administration.

Hon Ezenwa advised the group to channel their advocacy to the grassroots in order to achieve positive results.

Contributing, the spiritual father of day, Ven. David Achukwu, of Christ Holy Church, Awka, said peace was needed in Nigeria for things to go well, noting that it was only peace that would take the country out of security situation facing Nigeria.

For his part, Dr Ken Uzoechi, a legal practitioner, while reacting to the effectiveness of the group towards the upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State, said the group would be pivotal in ensuring fairness, transparency, accountability and also to reawaken society’s interest in the polity.

Uzoechi also advised Ndi Anambra to shun any form of godfatherism in the fourth coming election and to vote according to their conscience.

Meanwhile, a presidential aspirant, Dr John Kennedy Osuala, represented by the South East Coordinator of his campaign organization, Prince J. I. Otiji, while disclosing his endorsement by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, enjoined people from the Igbo ethnic group to speak in one voice, join hands and ensure that he secured presidential mandate.

The high point of the event was oath administration to ARF state, zonal and local government executives.
