ANSPOLY Holds Entrepreneurial Development Exhibition Programme

The Anambra State Polytechnic, (ANSPOLY) formerly Anambra State College of Agriculture, Mgbakwu, in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, recently held its Entrepreneurship Development Programme Exhibition at the Polytechnic Arena.

Declaring the Exhibition open, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. (Mrs.) Nneka C. Mefoh said the event was to show case the entrepreneurial skills acquired by students as a way of encouraging and preparing them to be self reliant in the event of being faced with dry challenges.

Dr. Mefoh charged the students to make good and positive use of the skills learnt, noting that the world they were in was a demanding and challenging one.

The Coordinator of ANSPOLY Entreprenurial Development Programme (EDP), Mr. Ejikeme Chinedu Sunday was on ground to anchored the event. Opening prayer was said by the Deputy Rector and followed by the Anspoly Chant.

In an interview, the Polytecnic’s PRO, Mr Chukwuanu Sunday Okagbue, Anipr, appreciated the Rector and entire management and staff of the institution for the laudable programme

He advised the students to be good ambassadors of ANSPOLY at all times and places and also put in good use the knowledge garnered from the exhibition.

‘As the term itself denotes, EDP is a programme meant to develop entrepreneurial abilities among the Students. In other words, it refers to inculcation, development, and polishing of entrepreneurial skills into a person needed to establish and successfully run his / her enterprise.

‘The concept of entrepreneurship development programme involves equipping a person with the required skills and knowledge needed for starting and running the enterprise.

‘Having involved myself in this program and also interviewed our students, this training has helped us the students to acquire various skills aside our areas of specialization.

‘Students are very happy to have participated in this program. A lot of us can be able to do new things as a result of this training. I want to specially thank the Rector, Dr Mrs. Nneka Mefoh and the management of Anambra State Polytechnic Mgbakwu for organizing the program,’ ANSPOLY Image Maker concluded.

Speaking on behalf of the students, the SUG president of Anambra state polytechnic Mgbakwu, Comr. Oraekie Michael Chinedu, appreciated the Rector and entire Management and Staff of Anspoly and enjoined his fellow students to make good use of the knowledge acquired.

The event which featured display of different products by various Departments and Schools witnessed the pressence diginitaries from all walks of life including the Deputy Rector, Dr (Mrs.) Njideka Chiekezie; the Registrar, Dr Samuel Nnana Esq, the Ag. Bursar, Mrs Elosi Rose Mary, the Ag. Librarian, Mrs Ojiba Obiageli, the Polytechnic PRO, Mr Chukwuanu Sunday Okagbue Anipr, invited guests, parents of the students, staff and students of Anspoly, among others.

Various Schools in the Polytechnic that displayed products by their staff and students included School of Agriculture and Related Disciplines, School of Engineering Technology, School of Management Sciences and School of Science and Technology.

Some of the items/products displayed included soya coffee, fingerlings, liquid detergent, disinfectant, electrical gadgets, animal feeds, bakeries etc.

Highlights of the occasion included breaking of kola, inspection of the displayed items by the Polytechnic Management led by the Rector, interactive session with the Staff and students on the merits of the programme and skills learnt etc.
