Anambra Student Emerges Overall Best in UTME

Anambra State’s dominant performances in national examinations has continued, with a student of the Anglican Girls’ Secondary School Nnewi (AGSS), Joy Mmesomma Ejikeme, emerging overall best student in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. She got an aggregate score of 362.

The breakdown of her score is as follows: English Language – 98; Physics – 89; Biology – 94; Chemistry – 81.

The performance of the student has brought joy and celebration to her school and the state, as her teachers, parents and fellow students were in ecstatic mood following the release of the latest UTME results.

Anambra State, it will be recalled, has since the handover of schools to the mission by the Government of Peter Obi, been leading other states in national exminations.

Following the outstanding result, the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, commended Ms Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, describing her performance as excellent and very outstanding.

She added that the performance, coming from the state, had again, demonstrated the investment and priority the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo accorded the education sector in the state.

‘This outstanding performance of Ejikeme has indeed brought joy and happiness to every Ndi-Anambra. We are proud of her and we will monitor her academic progression as she pursues whatever career she desires,’ the commissioner promised.

‘We are proud of her and grateful to Governor Soludo for giving top priority to education in the state,’ she further added.
