Anambra Speaker Visits IDP Camps

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Uche Okafor, has visited flood victims at various IDP camps at Omor, Igbakwu, and Ifite-Ogwari Communities in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Providing them with some financial assistance, Rt. Hon. Okafor regretted the situation the flood had plunged the victims and assured them of his intervention through personal support and by reaching out to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and its state counterpart, SEMA, in ensuring that basic amenities and relief materials were made available for them.

Speaking, one of the leaders of the victims who spoke on condition of anonymity, solicited for the monitoring of interventions to ensure that they got to the leadership of the camps directly for judicious distribution.

They lauded Rt. Hon. Okafor for visiting them, praying to God to replenish him richly for his selfless sacrifice.

Rt. Hon Okafor was accompanied by the TC Chairman of Ayamelum LGA., Hon. Livinus Onyenwe, as well as other stakeholders in the area.
