A group under the aegis of Anambra Mandate for Good Governance (AMFGG), numbering over two hundred, recently paid a maiden visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye in his country home, Amawbia.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the group, Chief Olisah Aniunoh, said the essence of the visit was to intimate him about the group’s aims and objectives, as well as to seek his blessings and support.
Aniunoh, who is the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Oliswarren Associates, said that without the managerial and administrative acumen of Oye, the party would have gone into oblivion, adding that they were out to consolidate on the already existing good governance in APGA and in Anambra State.
The AMFGG boss explained that the group was out to wade off external influences and unwanted elements from coming to disrupt what he described as the progressive narrative Ndi Anambra had enjoyed since APGA took over as the ruling party in the state.
He said the group could not take off without coming to see Oye, noting that what he (Oye) had done as the national chairman of APGA could not be overemphasized, adding that APGA under Oye had blossomed beyond expectations.
‘APGA can now boast of a permanent secretariat. Oye has shown capacity and transparency. He presented account of the money generated by the party to the admiration of all and sundry. We are strongly behind him. Oye has provided leadership. He has laid a solid foundation and that foundation is what we are building on,’ he said, adding that they were there to sustain APGA.
For his part, the deputy chairman of the group, Chief Achike Nnamdi, said the group now had a new set of people different from party executive members, noting that the group’s structure would move from the state to local government to ward and then down to the polling units.
In their separate speeches, the member representing Aguata I State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Cater Dike; Nnamdi Umeh; Hon. Cy. Okereke and the women’s leader of the group, Hon. Dr. Vero Okechukwu, and former chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Cy. Okpala, commended the APGA national chairman for the warm reception and also for his fatherly love and care.
Responding the Oye thanked the group for coming to see him, and wished them success in their set objectives.
‘I have seen the calibre of people here. I am impressed. I want you all to work together and above all, be prayerful. Work first and wait for your reward. Nobody will go unrewarded. As for the forthcoming election, there is no cause for alarm. APGA is winning the election. There is no war anywhere. It is a walkover. APGA will win landslide. APGA is love,’ he assured.
Oye appreciated the chairman of group for leading the group to his house, noting that God worked with time and there was time for everything.
