Anambra LFCs Receive Christmas Largesse from Fmr Caretaker Boss

The Local Government Football Councils (LFCs) in Anambra State, have taken delivery of Christmas gifts from the Anambra State Football Association.

Receiving the gifts which were bags of rice at the FA Office in Udoka Estate, Awka, last Monday from Mr Chijioke Onyedika, on behalf of the donor, Dr Emeka Okeke; former caretaker chairman of Anambra Football Association, the Dunukofia Local Government Football Council chairman, Engr Okechukwu Okeke, expressed gratitude to the donor whom he praised for his consistent efforts at strengthening grassroots football development in the state.

The Dunukofia LFC Boss assured the donor of the resolve of the local football councils to key into Dr Okeke’s vision of grassroots oriented football development by working hard to achieve that, even as he recalled Dr Okeke’s previous critical interventions in football development in the state.

In her speech, a board member, Mrs Cordelia Akanna, expressed satisfaction and joy over the gesture by Dr Okeke and assured of the support of members of the board for Dr Okeke.

It will be recalled that Dr Okeke who resigned as chairman of the Anambra State Football Association caretaker chairman some time ago, had been heavily involved in grassroots football development in the state, with his team, Aspire FC, winning the State FA Cup last season.

He was also credited with many innovations while as chairman of the caretaker committee.
