The members of the Anambra State 7th Assembly, Tuesday, October 18, returned to plenary after a recess.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, during the plenary, announced what he described as the unfortunate death of the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Dr. (Pharm) G. Nnamdi Okafor, who until his departure was the member that represented Awka South I Constituency in the state legislature.
It will be recalled that the late majority leader died on the 23rd of August 2022 in South Africa.
His remains, according to a letter from the family of the deceased to the state legislature, stated that the remains of the late lawmaker had been repatriated to Nigeria and his burial scheduled for the 9th and 10th of December, 2022, in his hometown, Awka, Anambra State.
The date for a valedictory plenary in his honour will be communicated in due course, Fides learnt.
