Anambra Lawmakers Pay Last Respects to Fallen Colleague, Hon Aniunoh

The Anambra State Government, has condoled with the family of Aniunoh in Umuoji, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State over the death of their son, brother and father,, Honourable Patrick Paddy Aniunoh, Aged 59.

Hon. Aniunoh before his death was the member representing Onitsha South I State Constituency and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the last Anambra House of Assembly election.

A valedictory session was organized for the late lawmaker and presided over by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu, at the Anambra State House of Assembly Complex, Awka.

Speaking shortly after the brief session, Governor Willie Obiano eulogized the late Aniunoh as a perfect gentleman, asking his family to entrust their faith in God to lead their path to great glory and height.

Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu, described him as an outstanding legislator and great achiever who had outstanding relations with his constituents. She recalled that he made impressive marks in projects and empowerment, and urged his family members to bear the loss with hope.

In appreciation, on behalf of the family, one of the brothers of the deceased, Mr Olisah Aniunoh, expressed gratitude to all those who stood by them in their trying moments.

Some of his colleagues who took turns to speak included Honourable Nkemdiche Ikpeazu, representing Onitsha South Constituency II, and Honourable Chugbo Enwezo, representing Onitsha North Constituency I, said the late Patrick Aniunoh believed in sacrifice which, they said, was the reason he made a lot of commitments to touch the lives of his constituents.
Also in attendance were Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu; members of the State House of Assembly; members of the State Executive Council; family; friends and well-wishers.
