Anambra APC Reads Riot Act to Erring Members

Following what they described as anti-party activities, party disloyalty and indiscipline, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Anambra State Chapter, has sternly warned erring members of the party to desist forthwith from the aforementioned undertakings or be shown the exit door.

Addressing the party faithful in Awka last Saturday during the stakeholders meeting, the State Chairman of the party, Hon (Sir) Basil Ejidike, JP, said it was common knowledge that most of the stakeholders and members lacked the required commitment and sincerity.

‘This has adversely affected our party in no mean way, here in Anambra. Some of our leaders are culpable in this regard. These unfortunate actions of some of these leaders and stakeholders have entrenched party disloyalty and indiscipline in our chapter.

‘The bad example set by these disloyal leaders implicitly affect the psyche, actions and activities of most party members; hence entrenching anti-party feelings and sentiments. This is the singular reason the party hasn’t made substantial impact in the state. We must bear in mind that ours is a party with great ideology, objectives, policies and programmes, and must be respected by members and leaders,’ he said.

Chief Ejidike announced that they would take stringent measures to save the party from extinction, noting that the party had resolved, in line with Article 21.3 of their constitution, to set up a Standing Disciplinary Committee that would try all known actions and anti-party activities perpetuated against the party in the recent past.

‘Without discipline, the party cannot move forward. The party has therefore resolved to draw a line and do everything that is needed to instill sanity in our midst,’ he concluded.

The APC, Anambra State Chapter boss, while reprimanding the defaulting members, stressed the need for unity in the party, urging all to eschew anti-party sentiments and build a united house for the benefit of all, adding that the party had the potentials, resources, and enablement to reposition  APC in the state.

Some of those in attendance included former member of House of Representatives, Hon Chief Dr Ifeanyi Ibezi; former Commissioner for Information, Anambra State, Dr Tony Onyima; Hon Chief Sam Oraegbunam; Dr. Val. Iyke Oliobi, State Publicity Secretary; Chief Chris Okey Udeze, among others

Setting up of various committees, including finance, eminent persons congratulation of the President-Elect and the Vice President-Elect; formed the highpoints of the meeting.
