Last Sunday my wife thanked God for adding a year to her life and for serving her country for 35 years as a civil servant before retiring in peace and good health. It was heralded by a thanksgiving Mass at St Mary’s Catholic Parish, Nimo, with a formal reception in our home.
It drew a large crowd of friends of the family and relations in what turned out to be a celebration of life, friendship and good neighbourliness. It was attended by such people as Sir John Odike, a Papal Knight, and his wife; Hon Pete Ibida, who represented Njikoka 11 State Constituency for eight years in the state legislature; Engr and Mrs Hyacinth Odigwe; and former catechist of St Mary’s Parish, Hon and Mrs Ikeanyi, among other esteemed guests.
I use this opportunity to thank them for loving our family.
