28 Escape Death in Ihiala Auto Crash

A total of 28 persons narrowly escaped death last Wednesday after a ghastly auto crash at Azia Junction in Ihiala, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. They include 18 male adults, 6 female adults, 2 female children and 2 male children.

The crash which involved three vehicles was between an unidentified driver of a Man Diesel Truck with registration number, SAG 80 XA; an unidentified driver of a Nissan Urvan Bus with registration number ZBL429YG, and another unidentified driver of a Nissan Urvan Bus with registration number GDD792XB.

All the occupants of the vehicles sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala by officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, rescue team from the Ihiala Command. No death was recorded.

An eyewitness report said the crash was caused by speeding which led to loss of control.

The Sector Commander, Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, wished the injured quick recovery, while urging motorists to desist from speeding and to exercise patience while driving on high ways to avoid unnecessary traffic crashes.
