20KVA Generator Donated By Engr Okafor Commissioned

A 20KVA generator donated by the Federal House of Representatives hopeful for Aguata Federal Constituency, Engr Dom Okafor, has been commissioned by the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Women’s Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, in Awka.

Okafor, it will be recalled, recently donated the 20 KVA generating set to the Disability and Humanitarian Services Centre, Awka, during a visit as part of the social responsibility.

The commissioning was done before an appreciative audience of workers and volunteers at the Disability and Humanitarian Services Centre, with the donor and Managing Director of Jocaro Nigeria Ltd, Rtn. Engr. Dom Okafor, officially participating.

Also present at the commissioning were the Commissioner, Lady Ndidi Mezue; the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Azuka Ofomata, and a host of other dignitaries who accompanied the donor.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Bar Betrand Ezewuzie, who was also present, appreciated what he called the philanthropic spirit of Rtn. Engr Dom okafor, and commended Okafor’s resolve to answer the call by the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, for well meaning citizens and philanthropic organizations to partner with the government in making life better for persons with disabilities, even as the state did her part by way of operating inclusive policies and creating opportunities for Ndi Anambra with disabilities.

Speaking at the event, Okafor enjoined other Anambrarians to help those who had some form of disability to live a more meaningful life by coming to their aid, this is even as he also declared that he was inspired by the show of love and philanthropy of Chief Willie Obiano and his wife, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, to the underprivileged people in the state through their various intervention policies.

Engr Okafor used the opportunity also to commend the State House of Assembly for passing the Disability Bill.

For her part, the commissioner thanked Okafor for his gesture and called on other well meaning citizens to emulate Okafor.
