The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, has assured Ndi Anambra of the state legislature’s readiness to continue to enact laws and resolutions aimed at uplifting the living standard of the citizenry, as well as the total development of the state.
In his New Year message, signed and made available to newsmen in Awka by his media aide, Hon Emma Madu, Right Honourable Okafor described Year 2023 as a year of peace and progress for the state and the citizenry.
He called on politicians in the state, irrespective of party affiliation, to join hands with Governor Chukwuma Soludo in moving the state to greater heights, adding that the governor had achieved a lot in just nine months in office across all sectors.
The Speaker urged various religious bodies in the state to intensify prayers for the continuous peace and progress of the state, noting that with prayers, the state would continue to grow from strength to strength.
Right Honourable Okafor enjoined security operatives, traditional rulers, Presidents-General to complement Governor Soludo’s wonderful security initiatives by fishing out miscreants in their localities.
While wishing Ndi Anambra a happy and prosperous New Year, the Speaker commended them for the faith they had in Governor Soludo’s Administration and enjoined them to pray fervently for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general elections.
