The house of the national chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu (Dr.) Victor Ike Oye known as Grace Villa was a beehive of activities last Sunday as the 13 APGA House Members-elect (First timers) declared their unalloyed supports to the re-election bid of Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye. The House members-elect during the solidarity visit endorsed the national chairman for 2nd term

Addressing the gathering the convener of the solidarity visit, Hon. Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeh, memberelect for Aguata 1 state constituency, thanked the national Chairman for giving the youth opportunity to run for elective positions in APGA, promising that the new members-elect would not betray the trust reposed in them by the party.

The member-elect lauded the National Chairman for the way and manner he had repositioned and rebranded the party.

The members-elect individually eulogized the National Chairman for his pragmatic leadership which, they said had made APGA a national party. They collectively passed a vote of confidence on Ozonkpu (Dr.) Victor Ike Oye.

They cautioned APGA’s detractors to desist forthwith from ridiculing and blackmailing the national chairman and APGA leadership, even as they described them as enemies within, adding that none of them paid a dime to Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye to be given the party’s ticket.

Responding the visibly elated national chairman of APGA expressed gratitude to God for blessing the party with vibrant young men which, he said, would occupy the Anambra State House seats in the 7th Assembly.

He exhorted them never to forget God who made it possible for them to be where they were at the moment, their constituents who gave them their mandates and also the party that produced them.

He said that fixing of the convention in the month of May was divine, describing May as Blessed Mother Mary’s month

‘What will I collect from Hon. Okechukwu Okoye and Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor? Some of you do not even have money to prosecute the primary election let alone giving me money. Does it make sense? No,  I know how I defended you people back there at INEC office at Abuja. Many money bags wanted to hijack the tickets and hand same over to their cronies but I said no. I stood firmly. We were frequenting INEC just to ensure that you people’s names were not removed or changed. We protected it to the last minute.

‘My position and insistence that Hon. John Nwokoye; Hon. Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeh; Hon. Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu deserved to be given the party’s tickets is one of the reasons I am being malign on social media. I refused to bulge or compromise. I stood my grounds. Today, I am happy that you people are here beaming with smiles.

‘Hon. Ogbuefinokoefi Ejike Okoye of Anaocha 11 won the election in 2015 but was rigged out and the party by its wisdom insisted that he will be given the ticket back in 2019. Such wise and applaudable decision is still one of the reasons I am also being attacked unjustly in the media,’ he stated.

Ozonkpu who received the newly elected members in company of the national youth leader of APGA, Comr Anselem Nebeife (Ikenga Agunkwo); APGA Vice chairman (Anambra South) Chief Titus Anagbogu (Ugwumba Aguata) and the state legal adviser, Bar Sly Ezeokenwa pointed out that the election of Hon Uzoma Eli of Onitsha South I State Constituency was divine, noting that the man who came first at the primary, Hon Paddy Aniunoh passed on before the general election, saying that Hon. Aniunoh’s demise paved way for Hon. Barr. Uzoma Eli who came second originally at the primary election.

The action-packed visit witnessed the adoption of the national chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu (Dr. ) Victor Ike Oye as a consensus candidate. The motion for adoption of the national Chairman for second term in office was moved by the Member-elect for Orumba North State Constituency, Hon Chief Emeka Aforka for Anambra South and seconded by members- elect, Hon. Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu (Idemili North) and Hon. Patrick Udoba (Anambra North) for Anambra Cemtral and Anambra North Senatorial Zones respevtively.

Moving the motion, the Orumba North House member-elect, Hon. Aforka emphatically said that the group was not a party to the rumour making the rounds that he (Ozonkpu) collected money from them, dissociating themselves from what he described as unfounded, laughable and baseless allegation.

Refreshment, exchange of pleasantries and group photograph formed the highpoints of the occasion.
